A worthwhile addition to the steam railway locomotive lexicon.
Czechoslovakia immediately after WW 2 produced some of the finest and most sophisticated
steam locomotives ever to see service. This book describes in great detail, with copious high-
quality illustrations, a group of three express passenger locomotives which unusually for that
late period employed compound steam expansion. It also describes a fourth example about
which hitherto little has been written, presented to the Soviet Union as a gift for Joseph Stalin.
Knowledge of the language of course is a real bonus, but if you have an interest in latter-day
Czech steam,this book is highly recommended (and others by the same author on post-war
classes).

A Thorough Work
Describing a book as definitive is risky, but if this isn't, it's about as close as its possibly to get.
As a piece of research it is remarkable, and the result is a work of great depth which so well
puts into perspective the story of the beginnings of the Luftwaffe,
