Valuable tool
I visit a lot of churches and struggle to read the latin inscriptions. This book gives you a means of translating latin texts without needing to know all the grammer.

Terrific book for someone who is into this subject.
If you are into war cemeteries or the work of Lutyens this book is authoritive and well illustrated. It probably wouldn't be ideal as a casual read for someone who doesn't take a keen interest in this subject.

Niche readership
Really enjoyed this book, which I expected to having read Sarah Wearne's three books in her 'Epitaph' series. I am a bit of a geek on this subject, so I would suggest that this would not be a good buy as a present for someone who does not inhabit this slightly macabre world that a few of us do.
