Brilliant jazz vocal, bought after hearing a track on BBC radio 3. I will treasure this.

Essential aid to vinyl playback.
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich This is something I buy routinely. It is expensive and I bought on eBay as it was the cheapest available. I've said yes to the set-up and design questions because I suspect an answer has to be given, but they are irrelevant.
The purpose of Stylast is to lubricate the stylus without contaminating the vinyl. There are small performance benefits, but most importantly it does help to extend the life of a very expensive stylus. Vinyl done properly is a brilliant medium, but it is also expensive to indulge.
A little goes a long way with Stylast, and the tiny bottle seems to last for ever, so not expensive to use. Should be a standard buy to anyone who plays vinyl.

Wonderful Reissue of an Ellington Classic
I have been collecting the Jazz Images series of classic reissue sine they first appeared about four years ago. I have yet to find one that doesn't come up to expectation, although they are quite a rarity on eBay.
This was one of a few sealed copies sold by Rarewaves (also recommended), but I think I've bought them all.
I do recommend the album regardless of whether or not it is the Jazz Images pressing. If you are an Ellington enthusiast (like me) you will already have it. If not, this is the great band of the mid to late fifties(and the 1956 Newport Jazz Festival), with Hodges, Gonsalves and the peerless Harry Carney in the reed section plus the great brass and that great rhythm section, together with Ellington's soulmate, Billy Strayhorn composing and arranging, and adding his piano skills on occasion. If you have never heard Ellington, this would be a really good introduction.
Go on -you won't regret it. But you will need a really good audio system to get the full benefit.
