Not Impressed.
It's a very cheesy series of sketches with a biblical theme. I would not recommend it, in fact if Nick Mcivor has written anything else I most certainly would not read it. I don't think this book would make anyone into a regular churchgoer.

An Undeservedly Forgotten Sitcome
A sitcom I have hazy pre-school memories of. I have watched the first few episodes and am impressed. I am a long-standing Father Ted fan and I can see some things in common with Father Ted, even though the characters in All Gas And Gaiters show much more commitment to their calling and a lot more competence than the characters in Father Ted. There is a grandfather-father-son relationship between the Archdeacon, the Bishop and the Chaplin, just as there is between Father Jack, Father Ted and Father Dougal. There is no equivalent to Mrs Doyle in All Gas And Gaiters but I would say that the Dean is the Bishop Brennan of All Gas And Gaiters. An undeservedly forgotten sitcom which fans of The Railway Children should watch to see the old Gentleman in another role, and Derek Nimmo is marvellous as the Rev Mervyn Noote.

A Great Model That I'm Proud Of
It's a great model and I think it's marvellous. I had noticed though when I pushed it along the front axle on the tractor unit didn't turn. It wasn't until three weeks after I bought it that the front left hand wheel on the tractor unit was partly broken off and at an angle to the axle. I tried to fix it and one of the spokes broke off and was lost. I now have a five spoked wheel on one side of the tractor unit and I am looking for a piece of red plastic rod which I can cut to the required length and repair the wheel. The front axle turns fine now, though but I am keeping the model on display with the right side facing outwards until I can get the wheel repaired. I'm still very proud of this model, though.
