Good Quality Picture Microscope, Some Trouble With Video
The microscope works as advertised. I am enjoying using it to observe a variety of microbes, ranging from pond life, to insects, to fungi from my fridge. I control this microscope by hooking it up to my mac laptop, and using the dinoXcope app (which was included in a cd with the microscope). This microscope takes good images, especially at the highest (5mp) resolution, as long as you don't have a rapidly moving subject line an insect. The microscope unfortunately has some trouble with video, with frame rate dropping significantly at higher resolutions. I was able to alleviate this a bit by using a screen recording program to record the footage shown by the microscope in the live window of the dinoXcope app. This will allow you to get a good frame rate at the 1.3mp resolution, and an ok frame rate at the 5mp resolution. So overall, this a good microscope. I plan on using it quite a bit in the future.
