A consistent devotional work
James Montgomery Boice was a pillar of light preaching from nearly every book in the Bible from a position that accepted the historicity and inerrancy of the passage. The three volume work on the Psalms is characteristic of his commentaries: Hebrew ( or Greek in the case of the New Testament works) is rarely mentioned, there are minimal mentions of other scholars and there is a consistent commonsense review of the text with sensible applications and observations. As such it fits well into a space of a excellent devotional or as a source for sermon preparation.
