Not what I expected...definitely not safe for flexible dryer venting.
I bought this brush with the intention of using it to clean the lint out of my dryer vent, and then clean the short run of piping from my pellet stove through the outside wall. My first problem with this brush is that the handle is very stiff and it is impossible to work the curve out of it. That combined with a brush that is also stiff made it impossible to safely get further than two feet into the vent. Even at that shallow depth, the brush caught onto the metal sleeve the venting was attached to and pulled them apart. The bulk of the length of my dryer vent is flexible venting, I can not imagine that I could safely use this set up on the full length of the vent without piercing it.
When I attempted to clean the exhaust pipe to my pellet stove, again the stiffness of the handle made it difficult to maneuver. The brush stiffness seems appropriate for cleaning out the soot in the exhaust pipe of a pellet stove, but again it seem to get snagged on the seams of the venting.
When I checked out the brushes at Lowes and Home Depot, the dryer vent brush is softer and more appropriate for flexible venting.
