Athearn's Decline in quality

This last batch of Athearn Big Boys and Challengers leave a lot to be desired. Such things as pieces falling off, missing screws, and erratic movement were the norm for one (1) Big Boy and seven (7) Challengers I purchased over the last few months. Also, at one time, Athearn would ship the model in protective plastic bags to protect the stunning blue box. Now you get the model, with the box unprotected - with scratches and blemishes. This last Challenger I received (3977) was almost perfect until the iron rail-work started falling off. I can glue it back on, but it's a pain to do so. I have no problem with the sellers involved - they have all been great. My concern is about Athearn's Decline in quality.
