The Bachmann 009 Baldwin - Outstanding!
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich It was going to have to be an exceptional model to get me back to 009 after 40 years away from the scale/gauge combination but Bachmann have done such a wonderful job in reproducing the Baldwin that I was tempted. They've managed to hide the motor and drive train completely inside the boiler and firebox so the interior of the cab looks authentic and there's plenty of daylight under the boiler. The detail and finish is excellent, it runs beautifully and the motion is a delight to watch. The 'cheat' of attaching what should be the rear axle of the 4 wheel bogie to the chassis works well, is not at all obvious and allows the model to be happy on a 9 inch radius curve. It's difficult to believe from the photos but the distance between buffer beams is less than 3 inches. Quality like this is not cheap but it is good value. A characterful, removable driver figure would have been a nice bonus but you can't have everything. Curses to you Bachmann; I didn't need another interest!

Turnigy R/C on/off switch.
As a complete R/C novice I'm not sure that I'm well qualified to comment but I can say that the Turnigy remote on/off switch is small, neat, reasonably economical and does the job I wanted it for. I've installed it in a model boat to control the smoke unit and, so far, it works a treat.
