Good dumbbells, though

There’s actually 32 lbs of plate in this package, which is fine, but it does mean that if you’re looking to do 2 20 lb dumbbells you’re outta luck. Standard size bar though so my other plates worked well on it.

For a Bowie fan

For any bowie fan, this album is tragic but beautiful. The songs are raw, unfiltered. The up beat, chipper Bowie of the past is stripped away, to show us the man beneath, a man who knows he is dying. It is heart-rending to listen to. His songs are like goodbyes, calling back to happier times, but reminding us of the fragility of life. In many ways, this album is so perfectly worth the price. It’s single sided, but the first time I heard it, I sat at the end, and the sound of my table resetting shocked me. It sounded as if someone had turned off the lights, and it felt like it. A wonderful experience. This album is not as retrospective as Blackstar, but it seems more personal, somehow. I do recommend it.

Good starter stereo

I spent a few hours listening with this after I got home from work, the night it arrived. The speakers are much smaller than the subwoofer, which isn’t really shown in the pictures. The remote can’t increase the volume above 30, but the volume knob can bring it up higher. Unfortunately, it doesn’t have a clock built into the lcd display, when it’s in standby it just blinks a bar. I think a clock would be great. Sound quality seems good. The cables are a little short, no biggie, I can just buy rca extension cables later on, so I can put the subwoofer on the ground. Bass is good, and I found myself quite giddy to have a stereo again. The manual it comes with is very nice, it’s simple, but it has all the information you need. The remote requires 2 AAA batteries. Overall I’d recommend this stereo system to anyone who needs a stereo on a budget.
