Guns! Gams! Gonzo Action!
As a long distance driver, I listen to a lot of books on tape in many different genre's. If you are looking for an engrossing story that more than gives you your money's worth, this is it. The hero isn't pretty, doesn't have dashing good looks, and doesn't make hearts swoon. Instead, he kicks the shit out of the darker side of the supernatural. From the opening scene to the last, if you like action, adventure, and humor, this is the book for you.

Eureka 2.0- The continuing continuinginginging
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich Every once in a while a perfect little show comes along that engages the senses and lifts tv from the deadly doldrums of sitcom sausage and the standard police/medical drama death dirge. Eureka was one of those shows. It did the absolute wrong thing in todays tvland: It was engaging with smart characters (literally smart) that actually did things, that grew and moved in ways that didn't feel pedantic. And as will all great little shows that aren't on the big three and drowning in support, it suffered. It suffered from a lack of urgency on the part of the network that aired it. It suffered from interruptions in schedule that had nothing to do with the actual show. And yet, the show never actually suffered on screen.
Jack and Henry had a steadfast friendship. Jack and Allison's relationship seemed to tease us but always moved forward in some way. Jack and Zoey had a unique father daughter relationship that continued to grow. And Jack and Jo had possibly the best working/love/hate roles on tv in quite a while. This show is smart, funny, and what tv should be. Buy it and enjoy.

A Different Harry!
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich This is a tv adaptation of the Dresden Files, so you know that while they use a lot from the books, they aren't completely faithful. The can't be. That said, they did some interesting things with the characters and kept the flavor of the series. Bob the skull isn't exactly Bob that we know, and that's okay. And while little things like the Blue Beetle are changed out, they keep the soul of it. Blackthorne does a good job as Harry, and the woman playing Murphy does a fantastic job in her role, surpassing the limitations that a tv show places on the series. All in all, a good alternate version of the Harry we all know and love. Solid B+
