Canon Ixus 105 - genuinely impressive!
8 von 9 finden das hilfreich I bought a used Ixus 105, which had no instuctions, but it was extremely easy to pick up how to use it. The menus are easy to navigate and understand, offering intuitive modifications to camera settings. Great picture quality - the colour balance is spot on, and even when photographing things at odd angles it seems to know how to focus properly (even better than a more expensive PowerShot!), very good auto-flash, easy mini-USB PC download. The wider-angle lens is great for squeezing a room full of people into a picture and taking great panoramic shots; the zoom has a very good range too. It's fair to say that the camera's strong point is definitely photographs - if you want to concentrate more on movies, consider a different model, but the Ixus 105 is an absolute star for taking stills. Problems? Only one small one - the screen is scratched easily, so keep it in a case. There's also a little more picture noise than I'd expected in very low light conditions, but it's a good compromise with file size - the compression is excellent 98% of the time. In sum, an amazing camera considering its size and weight - just a few years ago, this quality would have demanded a much bigger and heavier camera, and it would have cost twice as much; an amazing achievement by Canon. Highly recommended.

Brilliant for the last 8 years - easy to use from a wheelchair!
During the 1990s, I had a bought DC05 for general house-hold vacuuming, we had a short-haired dog at the time, and the Dyson was brilliant at picking up the tricky short dog hairs and all other general dust and fluff.
The DC05 was so good that when I bought a smaller flat as well, I decided to get a DC31 Animal. I no longer had a dog, but the 'Animal' version came with additional useful tools, so I bought that version again. It performed brilliantly, and I was amazed at how powerful and effective it was, despite being so light.
There was another important reason for wanting a small and light and powerful vacuum cleaner - I knew that eventually (due to severe arthritis) I was going to have to have my right leg amputated below the knee, and I would need to vacuum from a wheelchair.
I bought an extension tube and a floor tool, which fitted straight onto the DC31, and, as I had hoped, using the DC31 from my wheelchair is easy, and actually rather fun!
Now, I'm able to wear a prosthetic leg most of the time, but I find full-sized vacuum cleaners very difficult to steer, yet my trusty DC31 is so light and easy to direct, it's a pleasure to use.
It's a great vacuum under any circumstances, but wheelchair users also need to know that it's very easy to use from a wheelchair, and getting your home clean so easily is a very empowering feeling in such challenging circumstances!
Eventually, I'll upgrade to a newer Dyson hand-held, but I've only had to replace the DC31's battery charger in the last 8 years, so I'll keep it going - it's a trusty friend and ally, and has greatly enabled me despite my physical difficulties.
Universally recommended, without reservation, to able-bodied and wheelchair users alike!
