Easiest way to connect a PI to a FGA monitor
I needed to connect a PI (HDMI) port to an old VGA monitor. This works perfectly (you might have to play with the PI HDMI settings to get the best result on older monitors). As you can pick up VGA monitors for next to nothing; this makes for a very inexpensive solution.

My first choice.
I use these clamps for detailed current analysis - they're easy to connect and once clipped into place they are accurate and have a good response.
