not cheap and nasty, just inexpensive
2 von 2 finden das hilfreich You are looking at this and thinking - it sort of looks like a R...en...ker but for that price? - it's go to be rubbish. No, it's not, I have been playing bass for 30 odd years and have played Ri....ba..kers, no, it;'s not the same as them but those basses were far far more expensive than this. Straight out of the box it had all the playability of a plank but once i put decent strings on it and set up the intonation, this bass sounded and played 100% better. It has a set neck ( mine is dead straight) and adjustable truss as you'd expect and the pickups, while not as powerful as R***ys certainly pack a decent punch. I have gigged this a couple of times now as my second bass alongside an 80s precision that I have had a while and the amp settings don't need to be changed all that much to get a good sound. lots of sustain as you would imagine, all round this is a pretty decent Bass for the price - go on, you know you want to - and - it's lighter that a backenricker too and with no neck dive - I'm very glad I took the chance on it.

Completely Hooked - The best of - yes really!!
2 von 2 finden das hilfreich How often have you bought and album proclaiming to be " the best of" only to find the two tracks you really wanted are missing?? - Yes, thought so, me too. - Not with this CD though. This album contains all the Dr.Hook hits and more besides.
The three biggies are here, "Sylvia's Mother", "When you're in love with a beautiful woman" and "A little bit more" but the others that SHOULD have been massive hits in this country are also included - the Shel Silverstein penned " Everybody's making it big but me" charts the trials of a struggling country rock band and " Cover of the rolling stone" is along the same lines, again by Silverstein and both with tongue firmly planted in cheek.
For more humour try " The millionaire" - this is probably about the same band -= AFTER they have made the big time!!
More tender offerings are the wistful " More like the movies", "Better love next time" and the successful "Sexy eyes" and "If not you".
from comedy to romance with a great bit of storytelling along the way, if you only but one Dr.Hook offering then make sure that this is it!

Rare footage and In Milton Keynes too!
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich For those Queen fans who thought they had every track - there are a few on here that were not regularly part of their stage set. - Filmed on the "Hot Space" tour in 1982, this DVD contains footage of rarely performed live tracks such as Action this day,Staying Powewr and Back chat.
Along with most of the usual favourites this is a DVD not to be missed. All the standard crowd pleasers are there and with a 2nd DVD included a rare chance to see Queen performing Teo Toriatte live in Japan to a most appreciative audience. - Coverage on this 2nd DVD also comes from Austria, and for Queen afficionados there are inverviews with several of teh band - A happy couple of hours to take you back to the days when Freddie prowled the stage - buy it, you WILL enjoy it!
