Well-designed and fast, built to last.
This is a well designed, super fast computer. It is built like a battleship, ultra quiet and very easy to add hard disks and memory. I bought it to use as a digital audio workstation (DAW) and I can have live microphones in the same room with no problems with fan noise. As far as comparisons with other macs, this is probably the fastest of the macs (for now, anyway). Compared to PC's I can't really say. It came with OS 10.6 and it's a great computer. Glad I bought it.

In the 750 plus pages there are plenty of problems to work out including story problems for every chapter. The story problems cover a variety of applications including chemistry, automotive, construction, finance, health and many others. Except for long division problems the pages have enough room to be used as a work book - and they tear out easily. I think the book is good enough to be used without a teacher.

Buy This Book!
I have been looking for such a book on Photoshop for a while, and here it is. Well written and concise, each chapter is short and to the point as a 'how to' on most CS4 tasks, some common and others a bit trickier. But all written as easily accomplished. It comes with a CD that contains the example photos that go with each chapter. You may or may not need this but I did and it was very useful.
