Superb ! Get to know "The Vernon Girls"!
I must admit i,ve never heard of the "Vernon girls" (Few have in Sweden) And i bought this cd of pure curiosity.
It`s a great collection of original recordings between 1962-64, and the sound quality is perfect!
I`ts been a delight to (re)discover this girlgroup, that sounds just as good (and sometimes better!) Then Dee Dee Sharp, Little Eva and others who`s hits they are copying.
But,the Vernon Girls actually made a string of more personal songs with a style of their own (Including here as well) My favoutite being "Dats love" The girls unique and fresh verion of "Carmen"!
This collection is a must for everyone fascinated by the sixties popsound,and the back cover tells the fascinating story of "The Vernon Girls" !
