Looks like the real item, but it seems to be a fake

Looks like the real deal, but it doesn't feel right. The packaging looked correct and was properly sealed, but the plastic sleeve inside was folded over on one corner, and the wires feel too light and are kinked flat where they had sharp bends. I have an old pair of iPhone 4 headphones, and comparing them to these makes the fakery evident. Yet another instance of fake Apple product: sigh.

Works great

it only took a few minutes to swap out the old element. Be careful not to let the wires slip back inside the insulation, though, because if you do, you'll have to pull the panel on the back and dig the wires out of the insulation (as I had to to, if you couldn't tell).

Great way to get started with safety razors

Overall, I'm *very* happy with this kit. The razor is fairly well made and has a great little travel case, and the brush, bowl, and soap work fine. The only negative I ran into was with the included blade: it rusted, and you really don't want to leave it in. I would recommend getting a blade assortment (easy to find on eBay) and figure out which blades work best for you. Also, the brush will "shed" for a little while, but this is to be expected. The shaving soap is unscented, so when it's used up, you might want to get something scented (again, easy to find on eBay). This kit is a great way to get started with safety razors, and I've very pleased with the quality of the items.
