Why most seek out the older HM-36.
The Original Icom HM-36 Mic has been the Mainstay for many Hi End Icom Transceivers for many many years Better quality and voice handling characteristics. Most current production HM-36 Mics are replaced with this older Japanese Production.

Slightly larger diameter than OEM, but usable.
