A Great Alternative for VR
I had been an early adopter of VR, from an Oculus Rift CV1 to Valve Index on all of my simulators. Either it is racing in Aesstto Corsa, leisure flying in X-Plane 11 or intense dog fight in DCS, I enjoyed the immersion for being in a HMD while driving with my steering wheel or flying with my HOTAS.
However, as I fully went invested into a sim cockpit with MSFS2020, I was looking for an alternative to way to fly with physical hardware module rather than just a flight stick. Therefore, I started using OpenTrack with my phone while I fly to maintain head tracking on screen. But the resolution just wasn't high enough neither was the precision.
I was skeptical to buy into TrackIR, thinking that a dedicated device will not be that much better than my old iPhone X IR camera; boy was I wrong. TrackIR 5 has much higher resolution tracking, thus yelling for a much smoother experience. It is also more customizable with its dedicated software to set non-linear track point and set curve on how fast the device track with specific ramping/easing on each axis.
With this, I can see on screen, move around and look at my surround on screen in flight, while being able to manipulate hardware instruments that surround me. While it is not a perfect 1:1 tracking you would have in VR, this is a must have if you fly in a sim cockpit like myself.
Some had already mentioned, do try to get the basic version without the IR lamp module, the passive hat clip has work very well for me except in bright day light where IR is bouncing off of a lot of surfaces, in a dimmer environment or at night, the head clip was all I need.

Best Scriber To Date!
I have a few scriber to re etch panel lines, this is by far the best feel on handling and performance (at least on resin). Diamond coated blade is gentle enough to pre score at low angle but aggressive to remove material at high angle. Definitely will be more width variant for different line weight.

A Full Frame Mirrorless That Actually Works!
2 von 2 finden das hilfreich I had been using my Sony A7s for 4 years, while the camera had it quirks first out of the gate, the camera had became progressively unreliable after the first year mark. While the EOS R is also Canon first venture into full frame mirrorless camera, however the system was far more define and the ease of use is sublime; from its drag-AF while using the EVF, to it’s multi-Fn Switch and mode switch, the EOS R streamline the EOS experience in a smaller body with less buttons. Although the best thing that sold me on the camera is its dual CMOS phase detection focus, it is fast in photo and accurate for video. And its drop in ND EF to RF mount completes the package as a fantastic camera for hydrate media content creator like myself.
