Classic WipeOut, Steep Learning Curve
0 von 1 finden das hilfreich Not having played much of the series since Fusion, I can't speak to how the games in this collection compare to their original releases... But after playing a decent amount of 2048 and a bit of HD I can say the games certainly hit the anti-grav spot, for me. The ships are beautiful, the thrust sounds are varied and thrilling, the graphics are very nice. The soundtrack doesn't quite live up to XL, 3, or Pure, for me, but isn't distracting.
My main issue thus far is the learning curve. As a veteran of the series, the early levels in the two games I've tried were very easy (on Skilled, for HD). Then, to my chagrin, the 2nd or 3rd tier has a steep jump in difficulty, which leaves me feeling like my vehicle is perpetually underpowered (regardless of which one I fly). I find time trials to be especially frustrating, as some can't even be passed without a perfect 3 laps (2048, in particular).
So, if you're a perfectionist trying to have a full board of Elite Passes and Elite Golds, you'll have to, if you'll excuse the phrase, 'git gud'. As for me, I think I'll have to settle for whatever I can pass and not stress about the rest. A bit dissapointing for someone who unlocked the hidden prototype tracks and golded every track with every car on every difficulty on Wipeout 3.
