Great book. I really liked it.
Excellent book, unique topic, well written. If you like to read about the civil war from the Southern point of view, this is the book to read.

Good and enlightening diary by a soldier that was there!
Captain A.T. Fielder joined Company B, 12th Tennessee Infantry as a Private; by the end of his service to his state he had been elected by his peers to Captain. His description of camp life, guard duty, camp work, out on patrol, and his own battlefield experience make this a very good read. This diary is a glimpse into what it was like to be a soldier in the Civil War. I enjoyed this diary!
