Historically Sound and a Gripping read!
I read serious history quite alot for fun now I am a retired history teacher. However, this book is a true rarity. It manages to convey the results of deep and serious research sources in a straight forward and action packed way. This book should be rated amongst the great triumphs of bringing serious Ancient historical study alive for both the general reader and for those in the academic world. I cannot recommend this book too highly! If you are hovering - buy it now - you will not be disappointed!

Coin is in much better condition than I hoped!
This is a fascinating coin. It was the first ever coin struck by the State of Israel and between 1948 - 1952 it circulated alongside old Palestinian coins of other denominations within the 1000 mils to 1 Palestine Mandate Pound. In 1952 the currency was renamed as 1000 prutah to 1 Israeli Lira. This coin circulated thereafter as a 25 prutah piece.

Atmospheric Period Music
The playing and musical tonality on this CD produces an era evoking sound that let's you escape to the lost world of the early 1860s. The use of period instruments and the dexterity in their playing strikes one immediately as utterly different to today's brass ensemble sounds. This CD is unusual, informative and highly enjoyable.
