A greatly interesting story clearly told
This is probably the most interesting title in the Conway's History of the Ship series because it covers the vital transition of early medieval ships into the proper fully rigged sailing ships of the sixteenth century. Rather technical and dry in parts but still an interesting read for non specialists like myself. These books were written some time ago and show their age a bit. A few colour photos wouldn't go amiss. However, there isn't anything else out there which comes anywhere near in terms of the information contained here. Greatly recommended.
