Lo Mejor de lo Mejor - Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlan
We were dining at a Mexican Restaurant and listening to such beautiful Mexican music that I decided to ask them what CD were they playng. They told me, and showed me the case, and said, even, that they had bought it over the Internet. So, next morning I was buying it for myself!
It's 2 CDs with some of the 'usual' Mexican Mariachi music AND some of the less heard music that is very refreshing to hear; some songs were unknown to me...but, all in all, very pleasant to the ear.
I was very glad to acquire this CD because, I think, this is the very best collection I have ever seen of the 'Very Best of the Mariachi Vargas,' one of Mexico's leading mariachi bands!

The Slipper and the Rose/ DVD
I am sorry I have to give this product such a negative review, but the seller failed to say that this DVD was only for viewing in the UK and NOT in the USA. It was also my fault that I didn't ask, I know. Therefore, I cannot issue a review since I haven't been able to watch it! And visiting the UK with the sole purpose of viewing this DVD is OUT OF THE QUESTION. I'm sure it is a beautiful story...for viewing in Europe!

The best yet...
I have most of Alberto Cortez' albums, from his earlier days to the present. We all know he's the best at what he does, but time is most of the times the enemy of a good voice. Eventhough I love him dearly, I can honestly say that his latest CDs don't have his best recordings.
This album, LEYENDAS, seems to me that has gathered all 25 tracks of when he was at his best voice. That makes me happy because in some other CDs, after listening to one of his 'good voice' songs comes another 'not at his best voice.' To me, this is the best album yet released.
I would love it if they did another album (with his best voice) with the lesser popular songs but as profound and beautiful as the ones they usually broadcast 'all the time.' I hope my comment helps someone else.
