Good Shielding for RSP-1
I really like the RSP-1, but I always felt the plastic case was not good, as no shielding is provided. Therefore, when I found out about this very high quality aluminum case for the RSP-1, I jumped at it. The fit and finish is very good. I am very happy with the upgrade. If there is any negative to speak of, there are no written instructions. So, if you are a handy electronics hobbyist, you will be able to figure out how everything fits together. If not, you may need to go find a qualified friend to help you.

Good, Sturdy Power Supply
It is a well built power supply that cranks out 13.8 volts DC at 5 amps or so without issue. I suspect it will run for years without an issue.

Surprisingly good.
I use this mic with my Icom IC-7300. Frankly, I wasn't expecting much out of this mic. I was pleasantly surprised. It sounds almost as good as the hand mic that came with the 7300, which is an exceptionally good mic. For the price, this HM-36 mic is very good.
