Great Value
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich This is sturdy enough to hold my Professional Sony DSR-250 video camera (7 pounds dry, 10 to 11 pounds with batteries & light)...Rated for 40+ pounds.
I like the smooth action of the fluid pan head...this is what I expect from a $600 tripod...

Great solid mic preamp & processor...
DBX makes very solid components, and many radio stations use the DBX 286.
It gives great results but this IS a technical piece of equipment, so get & read the manual...the manual has suggested starting points for setting up the various controls.

Advances and setbacks for Canon
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich This camera is the 3rd Canon pocket camera I've used...previous ones were the Canon PowerShot 530 & PowerShot 540...
THE GOOD: better resolution, and the Macro mode works well. It can take a larger capacity SD card. It can also shoot in hi resolution widescreen mode (great, in case I want to incorporate a photo into a video project). Itused 2 standard AA batteries, and it does retain the optical viewfinder, and the camera is also smaller than earlier versions of the PowerShot line...
THE BAD: a LOT of Parallax Error when using the optical viewfinder, quite pronounced...if you CENTER a subject in the viewfinder, it will end up at the lower part of the photo. This is where looking at the LCD screen (if the sunlight is not hitting it) might be the bast way to compose a shot. I bought THIS model specifically because it did have the optical viewfinder. The Parallax Error is minimal in the older PS 530 & PS 540 camera's.
Also, when looking through the optical viewfinder, the lower left portion is blocked by the lens...yup, the barrel of the lens is visible in the viewfinder !!! I have a lot of respect for the Canon products I'm fond of, but this is a major blunder on Canon's engineering dept.
Finally, the steps you must to to, to set up for a Macro shot, (or other specialty shot) is cumbersome...
Sorry Canon, If I buy another USED Canon pocket camera, it will be an older model...
