Buy a few...
These are easy to apply, and they work, but eventually you will chip the edges and that will lead to cracking. They are so inexpensive, go ahead and buy the 3 pack.

Clearly rejected old stock

Restores the functionality and safety of my gas caddy.
This is an exact fit for my decades old Gas Walker gas caddy. The old one was cracked and leaking, this threaded right in and, using the old gasket (until I can find a new one) made the caddy air tight again. I have a PVC pipe plug threaded into it with a shrader valve installed, so I can pressurize the tank slightly for faster gas dispensing. A few pumps from a tire pump and I'm good to go. I'm not using a rotary pump, but this adapter does exactly what I need it to do.
