Very informative movie book
This is a great little book documenting Marilyn Monroe’s films from Ladies of the Chorus through to her (sadly) incomplete film Something’s Got to Give. It’s really well researched and even thought I knew a fair bit about Monroe’s movie career, I found that I discovered bits of trivia that I previously didn’t know. It fits perfectly in my handbag so it’s ideal for on-the-go. The film stills are a joy to look through as well. If you are looking for a comprehensive book on the life of Marilyn Monroe this isn’t it. If however you want a book that focuses entirely on her acting career then this is for you. Enjoy! :)
P.s. I also recommend The Little Book of Audrey Hepburn in the Movies which is of course part of this series of little books. :)

Don’t Bother
1 von 2 finden das hilfreich It pains me to type this review as I adore Vincent Price, Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee but this film really is terrible. What plot there is is centred around a sort of Frankenstein theme of amputating body parts in order to create a new race of ‘super-humans’. Admittedly, this sounds great on paper but boy is it terribly executed. There are scenes that drag on for ages and some parts don’t seem to make much sense whatsoever. After I watched this travesty of a film, I looked at the film’s trivia page on IMDB and discovered that even Vincent Price didn’t understand the script. If you are looking for a great classic horror film then watch The Abominable Dr Phibes, Theatre of Blood, Dr Terror’s House of Horrors or Dracula:Prince of Darkness. Please don’t waste your time on Scream and Scream Again.

Fab for any Halloween fan
I’m a huge fan of the Halloween franchise with the original Halloween, Season of the Witch and Resurrection being my personal favourites. Halloween 4 follows on from Halloween 2 and features Laurie’s daughter being tracked down by Michael Myers. Laurie (Jamie Lee Curtis) is absent in this film as well as Halloween 5 and 6 (and of course 3) but this doesn’t spoil the enjoyment of the film. All the films in the franchise are essential viewing for horror fans and with Halloween coming up at the time of reviewing, this film as well as the others are perfect for your Halloween viewing. Highly recommended.
