Easy setup
This bookcase is MUCH easier to setup than most; this is coming from a guy who’s assembled four of them, including this particular model. It only takes 2-3 hours at most to assemble this model since the wood panels are fairly light. Despite it’s relatively light weight, it’s definitely structurally sound and can hold lots of books with no problem. The only caution I would advise is to make certain the cam bolts are tight; once you do that, the rest is cake.

Wonderful little device! Pretty easy to setup, and the scan quality is good considering how small the scanner is. Well worth the cost, especially for Mac users!

Great protein powder BUT....
This is a great protein powder for the money if you’re trying to attain and maintain ketosis (I.e. low carb high fat). HOWEVER, it has two big flaws that took me a while to find solutions for:
*The pea flavor is VERY strong, especially when you use multiple scoops for the protein drink;
*The texture of the protein is very chalky, and doesn’t go down smooth via normal preparation.
That alone sounds bad, I know, but I’ve come up with solutions that have worked for me, or at the very least made the protein drink palatable and perhaps even somewhat pleasant.
First, to deal with the chalkiness I used a high-speed blender (specifically a Vitamix) while using a ratio of one scoop pea protein to one cup unsweetened low-calorie almond milk (any nut milk works fine). I use 3 scoops pea protein so I correspondingly use 3 cups of liquid. For those of us trying to attain ketosis, however, I substituted one cup of nut milk with cold water. I then blend the mixture at my highest speed for exactly one minute. Use chilled water and nut milk to absorb the heat generated by the motor and blades. I find that the high speed pulverizes the protein molecules into shorter polypeptides (that means shorter protein chain segments for the non-nerds among you), which greatly helped reduce the chalkiness.
Second, to deal with the pea flavor DO NOT use anything fruit-flavored as that will not work at all (who wants pea-flavored fruit??). What I’ve discovered instead is that mixing in some unsweetened cocoa powder does wonders to mask the pea flavor. I use 3 scoops pea protein in my drink, and I’ve found that a minimum of two tablespoons of cocoa powder does the trick. You can of course substitute for chocolate powder and get better results, but for those of us trying to attain ketosis (like myself), unsweetened cocoa powder is the only choice. Of course, 3 tablespoons of cocoa powder is even better for flavor but I’m a very low carb keto dieter so I stick with 2 tbsp.
By combining these two solutions, I’ve been able to make a pea protein drink that I actually like. It’s an acquired taste, like coffee or alcohol, but I’ve found this formula to be quite successful. I hope it works for you as well, dear reader.
