The band (part of the lid) gets rusty easily
I am happy with the jar itself. However I am very disappointed with the quality of the lid. Mason jars are recommended for fermentation and sprouting. I bought the jars for fermenting and sprouting not to keep dry goods. I have plenty of glass jars for that purpose.
Inevitably there will be liquid coming in contact with the lid or the band. After 1 or 2 use rust starts to appear all over the inner ring of the band. I know avoid using the band and a DIY mesh lid for rinsing whiles sprouting.

Versatile kitchen utensil
It is very versatile. You can use it for steaming, or use the pot by itself for stir-frying, stewing or soup. I used it the other day for cooking massamam curry.

50% successful rate
The quality of the cuttings is not consistent. I have three cuttings developed roots after soaking them in water. One of them never rooted and developed mould. I potted the three with roots and kept them in shaded area, watering. One has so far grown into a good size plant and has been planted out, one has two leaves so far. The third one died.
Looking back I shouldn't purchase the unrooted cuttings as the successful rate is low. It is much better and cost effectively to either propagate through slips from a sweet potato or buy a tuber stock (cost $5.95). The successful rate of the latter is 100% and you can then take cuttings from the plant to propagate more plants. The former method is much cheaper. $1.99 - 2.99 you can buy a kilo of sweet potato and in spring it is easy for them to sprout.
