Another average 80's mindless action movie.
This could have been a better than average 80's mindless action movie: Good points -- The aliens' technology showed that a lot of thought went into it, and that made the plot work. The special effects and some of the actors' performances were better than average. Bad points -- There were three sub-stories, too many shallow characters and not enough time to develop most to their fullest. Some of the actors' performances were below average. And, unfortunately the film's makers succumbed to the Hollywood fault of overkill.

A moderately priced collectible or toy.
A relatively inexpensive decent miniature replica for the collector -- metal rims would improve it; a relatively expensive but fairly durable toy for an older child who knows not to beat. wet or throw it.
