A recommended detector at a good price
a neat compact item. A good point is that it is a sealed unit so no batteries to relpace during it's active life. It is recommended by which magazine. I hope I don't have to test its effectiveness with a gas leak.

A basic means to listen to what a loop system is doing.
This works well. Allowed me to listen to what sound is fed over the loop. It has a switchable filter to cut mains hum, on our system it reduced the level rather than eliminate it. However the speech was still loud enough for it to not be affected by it. Volume is adjustable.
Switched on when the headphones are plugged in, off when they are removed.
We have used it for a couple of hours so I don't know how long the battery lasts.
For the price, it did what we needed it to do.
