A Delight
This book is utterly charming. It has a sweet, simple almost child-like style both in the seasonal poems and the quilts that were made to complement them. I was lucky enough to view the traveling exhibit of these delightful quilts several years ago and marveled at how the author learned to make these mini works of art in order to illustrate her poems. I purchased the hardcover edition of the book at that time and keep it on my living room coffee table year round, always open to an appropriate poem to match what is currently going on in nature. I've enjoyed having it so much that I just purchased a copy to give to a dear friend who is both an avid quilter and gardener. I am confident that, like me, she will find the style of the both the poetry and illustration thoroughly delightful.
