Never Cry Wolf

This is one of the funniest and most compassionate books I have ever read. If you love the outdoors and care about animals, you'll love this book. The author's experiences, which were made into a Disney movie are written about in such a way that you can picture yourself acting the same way and feeling the same feelings. You also get to know the wolf family and begin to care about them. It gives you a real sense of why we should preserve the wilderness and care about the animals that live in it - including those animals that we designate as predators.

Introduction to Geography with Powerweb

This is actually quite interesting to read. The text is very informative and makes the subject attractive. I thought Geography was just learning about land formations and cliches about cultures, but it is much more interesting and diverse. Also, the website which you get access to has a lot of great features. As a homeschool mom I could have used this textbook and website with very little additional work on my part. The text does seem a little slanted to the "left" in terms of environmentalism and global warming issues, so if you wanted to use it with your high school students be prepared for some interesting discussions. The book also talks about careers in which Geography plays an essential part, and should be very encouraging to anyone who loves Geography and wants to major in it and make a good living. Highly recommended!
