Love It!

I confess to being a rabid Dan Fan; SO... no surprise that I love this collection. It's billed as a greatest hits set from the Blue Thumb years. We can debate whether these are the very best of that period, but certainly, for one who loves Dan (and his "Lickmen" and the "Licketts) this is set very tasty indeed. Dan is gone, and truly no one has appeared who can carry forth the flame of his tongue-in-cheek, winkingly naughty, 1930s style, snazzy-jazzy guitar-based cozy musical arrangements quite like ole Dan. For me, the solution for this extreme dilemma has been to buy all the Dan I can find.... and play it often. He sounds as fresh as ever. I miss this guy! I love this collection!

A Treasure

This beautiful 4 CD set is a homecoming for Pentangle fans. The selection of material and the mastering are a delight. For me, the treasure here is disc 3 containing a fine re-mastering of all 19 songs officially issued from their Royal Festival Hall concert of June 29, 1968. I could rant on and on about this wonderful collection. If you are a Pentangle fan that is quite unnecessary. You already know they are one of the very best groups of all time. If you do not know The Pentangle...buy this now...or any of their other material. Life is fleeting. Don't wait. This group was...IS... a treasure!
