Lionel Die Cast 50 Ton 2-Bay Coal Hopper
These die cast hoppers from Lionel make a fine addition to any collection of true 1:48 scale model trains. Originally offered by K-Line they're as durable as it gets. Beautifully detailed w/separately applied details including stirrups, handrails, ladders, brake apparatus & working bay hatches. Great rivet detail & superior graphics. They are also nicely weighted due to the die cast body. I don't think there are any plastic parts on this car. Available as single cars & in 3-packs w/individual road numbers in a variety of road names if you can find them. My only complaints are Lionel does not offer 6-packs & each year they repeat w/the same road numbers.
