    Wahoo KICKR Smart Trainer
    31. Jan 2021
The best trainer out there, still with a little room to grow.
Wow, the Wahoo Kickr is excellent trainer that you won't regret investing in. It was incredibly easy to set up and is great to use. It has a really realistic ride feel, with the ability to provide as much resistance as you need. I found the Wahoo Kickr very solid, and performs really smoothly. It pairs easily with the Wahoo app, and then connects instantly each time you open the app to begin another training session. If you connect it to a third party virtual training app, like Zwift, you get a whole other level of sophistication training on virtual rides with the Kicker automatically increasing the resistance for your virtual hill climbs. The app provides several options for the training display, allowing you to view almost a dozen live stats, or pair it back to just the basics. It tracks your cadence, power, speed, time spent, and heart rate since I've also paired a Wahoo Tickr X heart rate monitor, as well as averages for each of those, and a series power metrics including TSS, IF, NP, VI, Kjoules and Calories, with graphs for power, cadence and heart rate noting the max and averages, not to mention time spent in each power zone (configurable), and finally laps with detailed stats for each. It's a hell of a lot fun to use. So, what's missing? Integration with Strava for one. If you want that, you have to pay for a third party app, like Zwift. Why bother? Because as good as the Wahoo app is during the training session, it's incredibly weak for keeping a summary and tracking your progress over time. For that I highly recommend Strava. grrrr. Also note, I have a first generation Kickr. Features it's missing: LEDs showing you if bluetooth is on and connected. (I haven't had any problems, so I don't miss them). I also have to perform spin downs, which are super simple and take just a couple minutes, but newer models eliminate this maintenance. Also the one I purchased came with a 10-speed cassette, which I had to upgrade to an 11-speed. (an extra $50) Lastly, these older models used to also require a separate cadence sensor, but the newest firmware and app now calculate it automatically, even on this v1 model. A very sweat bonus. – From my perspective these minor tradeoffs were well worth the savings on the older versus the newer models. Overall, a great product – I highly recommend.
Wahoo WFPODCAD2 RPM Bluetooth Bike Cycling Cadence Sensor
    18. Mär 2021
    You can’t go wrong
Wahoo’s Cadence sensor is an easy to set up, cost effective way to track progress out cycling, training indoors or running. Like Wahoo’s other products the sensor is easy to setup up, pairing with Wahoo’s apps or third party apps like Strava, Zwift and Training Roads. It is very reliable using Bluetooth and doesn’t need a magnet. I just attach mine to my cycling shoe strap.
