Good graphics but average experience
Graphics wise, Sol Deace is a competent game. However, gameplay wise the game is very uninspired, and the music doesn't hold a candle to the original MegaCD release. It has enough value to make it worth playing and collecting, but other shmups (Gaiares, Thunder Force 3 and 4, for instance) will give you more for your money. If you're just starting out, char the other games. Otherwise, feel free to enlarge your collection.

Cord is too short for real usage
The controller could be a good alternative to an official (and now expensive) Sega gamepad. Build is not that much different, as controllers from the day, electronics are minimal, and it weights like a feather. Buttons are responsive, and the D-pad response is good as well. However, all this is hindered by a very short 2' cord (NES classic short). The only way I can play comfortably with this gamepad is if I have the console right by my side, at lap level (on the floor it is already stretched). If you have your console on a rack, forget it, you can't use it at all.
If by any chance you're sitting at a table, with the console right in front of you on the table, then it may work well. But for the rest of people with a regular TV setup in their bedrooms and living rooms, this is not a good gamepad. They should have copied SEGA's original Genesis/Megadrive cord length, it'd have been better than cloning the SEGA logo in the controller.

Great for Appleseed fans
Appleseed EX Machina is another movie in the Appleseed universe. Unlike the first Appleseed movie, which reinvents the first manga volume, this is a sequel which is inspired by the manga, but in no way a translation of what happens in any of the 4 manga volumes. That said, it relies in the fact that the viewer already know Appleseed. Or at least, that the viewer is willing to learn about it elsewhere. It's a fun action movie (no deep philosofical questions), with great action sequences, but surely aimed to Appleseed fans. The BluRay edition is top notch, with great image and vibrant sound.
