Backing track of orchestral parts where you play the solos.

Very helpful for students and performers. Easy computer based software which actually works. A nice recording, with or without the soloist. Highly recommended.

All flute players should discover Henry Mancini

Everyone loves the cool, funky Pink Panther, though there is a lot more to Mancini and Hal Leonard backing track edition is recommended. There is real genius in Mancini's melodic and swing/jazz composition and he was an accomplished flute player. Even the easy looking pieces demand a lot in breath control and phrasing - there is a case for all flautists working on Mancini. Playing with the backing track is good practice not to cheat shortening the long notes and phrases. See also the flute piano edition Mancini produced with James Galway which has some cracking performance arrangements beyond the titles here.

Highly recommended house phone system

This is a very nice phone. Very reasonable price here on ebay. It is slicker to hold and operate than BT models. The speaker phone is very helpful, say you want to write something or are working. Strongly recommended. Good answering machine, easy to operate.
