Exemplary World War II Memoir
This is among the finest of British World War II personal memoirs, with Lord Alanbrooke's diary the next rung down. Colville's book captures the atmosphere of Downing Street under both Chamberlain and Churchill. A compelling read of British society and culture as well as personal war history. Dreadfully expensive even in paperback but worth the price all the same.
