Well researched
Not a book for those who have a set belief of the 20th century and a narrative that can be picked up from any coffee table book or TV show. If you are, then this book will upset you. This book is by an author who has spent years researching the archives of many countries for primary source material. It is not a book researched via other authors.
If a different version of history makes you uncomfortable then this book is not for you.
However, if you are a historian and are used to reading difficult books with a critical mind then I highly recomend this book.

Good reproduction of a Panther in 1/76 scale with a couple of minor problems. Value for money.
A fair representation of the Panther Tank. The model is from a 1961 tooling mold. I had this same model as a boy in the late sixties early seventies. I remember some of the problem that still exist fifty years later. There is not enough room for all the wheels. This was remeded by fileing some of the problem diameter of the wheel off. The other major problem that came back to me as I remembered it was the rubber tank tracks are about a quarter of an inch too small. Stretching risked tearing the track. So I superglued (didn't exist to the public when I was a boy) the tracks to the wheels. I submerged that part of track in 'mud' to the plinths diorama. That way the 'missing' track is not noticable at all. Apart from that a nice little 1/76 model.

British Airborne Mission, D-Day
This book is about the British 6th Airbourne mission to destroy the German battery at Merville, Normandy. The battery was to the left flank of the British seaborne landings and could have turned the landings into a defeat. The Airbourne troops had to land in the dark, hours prior to the landings. What happens is set back and appaling loses. The determination to carry out their mission against set-backs and overcomming the Russian, Polish and German defenders of Normandy on the sixth of June 1944. The book is well researched and written. I advise any who are interested in the D-Day landings to read this book.
