It's OK!
I've only just started (I'm only on chapter 3) but find it a good introduction to Italian, logical and easy to follow. It's not a rigorous academic approach but practical and everyday, and will surely be good foundation if I want to go further. I could find minor faults but overall it's good ... and it's cheap (used copies abound) so if you don't like it the downside is small! Get the CD, or/and use Anki and Forvo (bot dot com)

Lovely book
Great fun, a fast read. It has a clear autobiographical element but with lots of added colour and, for me, a touch of nostalgia. Great chuckles - don't read it in bed if your wife is trying to sleep!
