Light weight Zimmer Walking Frame
I have had two total knee replacements and now face ankle fusion surgery on both ankles and have osteoarthritis in both shoulders, lower spine, elbows and wrists.
After the first ankle fusion I will not be able to put any weight on that leg for many weeks / months meaning all my body weight (15 st) will be on my other leg that is week due to knee replacement and the end stage arthritis and in the other areas described. I have praticed with NHS walking sticks and the NHS offset forearm crutches and but struggle badly to take all the weight.
This little Zimmer is the best of them all, light weight but strong and allows for better distribution across the upper body to take the weight. You can also slide the weight bearing leg more easily to avoid hopping and the impact otherwise being taken on the supporting leg.
The top cross member support rail is also high enough to allow the ankle fused leg to stay straight lightly resting the heel when sitting such as on a toilet and is just in the right place to use both arms, shoulders etc evenly when standing up.
Quality, very useful frame at a bargain price. Very highly reomended.
