Doesn't test transistors, but has a taut-band movement
Only one complaint: The description implies that it tests transistors. But the manual states it requires an optional adapter for that function. On the plus side, is the low price, and also, though this is not mentioned anywhere, is that, due to the way the meter needle behaves, it's evident that it has a taut-band movement. This is a big advantage in an analog meter.

Defective, but easily fixed
The cable was defective where it entered the connector. It was easily fixed by replacing the plug.

Good Military VTVM
The item was as described, and just needed calibration to meet specs. Tubes were at the upper region of their emission, so should last a long time. Input Z & freq. response are better than that of most civilian VTVMs.
