Works when it wants to!
Looked a good idea for my young granddaughter though it's a bit fussy about moving up and down and considerable pressure (beyond 7 year old hands) is needed for most bottles. It also seems to be very temperature dependant and if the water's too warm, sun heated say, it won't perform. Getting it to spin in the water is an unnecessary addition to the learning that it might offer

Why do so few people know about these books?
Compelling characters, unrivalled location and beautiful almost poetic writing the problem is not finishing these books but putting them down - trying to make the book and its magic last as long as possible. Highly, highly recommended.
