The caddy is a starting point
I am adding an extra ssd to a laptop that had a NvME installed new. Therefore no caddy. The space should be correct but the holes were slightly off. I think there should have been a spacer, but can't find reference to one. Overall, little customisation and it works. It is rocket science after all. It worked, kept the ssd safe.
