This thing does what nothing else in the known universe does
At least that's what I thought just from looking at pictures of it, which are pretty self-explanatory. That impression proved spot on, and the Plamp became exceedingly useful in record time upon arrival even though I did not order it for any specific need. I'm sure I'll order another soon.
Is it well made? It's from Wimberley, isn't it? Heck yeah it's well made! If you think they price their stuff a little on the high side, just remember "you get what you pay for around here". And you do.

Microscope Slide Repair & Mountant
I had seen this product recommended as a mounting medium for the preparation of permanent microscope slides. But I happened to have a valuable permanent specimen slide that had been dropped, and one end broken off, making it impossible to clip into the microscope's mechanical stage slide carrier, and bought this product to repair that slide by gluing the two pieces back together. I used my UV flashlight to cure the glue. It worked a treat -- I even gave it a bit of an inadvertent "torture test" when I removed the slide after a session, forgot all about it having been broken, and cleaned it as "vigorously" as any other slide. I am delighted with this product!

Flawless
5 stars considering the price. But reasonable price or not, it's been doing its job perfectly for three weeks now and not showing the first sign of fatigue or wear. I'm surprised and delighted, really didn't expect it to work flawlessly, but so far it has done exactly that. It carries fairly weighty loads: a DSLR with beefy lens and a stereo microscope (bought an extra plate), which are swapped often - which is the job I bought it to do. Wish all my purchases would turn out like this one.
