Hidden Gem
We all know the hits and every song on Moondance, but I've been enjoying discovering the hidden Gems on Van's lesser known albums including this one. Recorded in San Francisco shortly after Woodstock changed the world, it features an all-star cast including Ronnie Montrose and John McFee with perhaps the first use of Pedal Steel in any genre other than county.

Unsung hero!
I've been using this pickup for 35 years on everything, Guitar, Mandolin, and foot board. It is the best of this design, plenty of low end, no preamp required. Plug 'em straight into your mixer and EQ as needed. Sweepable mids are helpful. They will hang with any expensive pickup system out there, and they are relatively cheap, built like a tank with a sturdy cable. Install with a fine coat of super glue over the whole contact surface for best sound, and best feedback rejection. In a guitar, mount it next to the bridge plate favoring the bass side. Remove using a super glue solvent. I like to combine it with an external mic and a sound-hole pickup. -pobrucer

Pegasus!
Under-rated 1979 Allman Bros album. Every cut is good, no klunkers, but Pegasus is outstanding, stands with the best of Bett's instrumentals. It's great to hear Dickie and Gregg trading lead vocals on Try it. A great effort.
