A challenging, thought provoking and worthwhile journey.
The author weaves his personal experiences with studies on the abstract and often unconscious thoughts Americans have regarding the outmoded concept of race. It is thought provoking, well written and very well sourced. I need to read certain sections several times to process it, but the extra effort is well worth it. A good book.

A knight struggles against bigotry and infighting to pull Medieval Spain together against a foreign threat.
El Cid is classic movie that doesn't get shown any more. I am a classic movie buff, yet had not seen this one. The last of an age. It is a visually rich movie — a sweeping historic epic of heroism and ethical courage. The score by Miklos Rozsa is hauntingly beautiful.
