Larger and taller than flat version. Hot pan overhanging will not damage controls as fast or much.
This is my third, two flat versions first of the same brand. Large fry pans by mistakes was moved over controls occasionally. The pan heat destroys the controller on the FLAT versions. After over two years one flat went bad. No damage to this diagonal face one yet. The remaining flat unit lost a number of the 3 digitals on the indicator but I still used daily. It heats fast and great for all when volume/mass is about a galloon and a half or less. At 2 gallons the range is on par and better for say IE. a 3 person pot of spaghetti water. 120 v amperage limits this to one to two per 15-20 amp circuit if started at maximum simultaneously. The pair when at full power have tripped the circuit 3 times with the dishwasher running on the same circuit. This one detects the induction plated aluminum pans much better than the flats. Maybe due to sensor newness, improvement, or thickness of unit gets its field away from the metal in the surface below? A higher wattage version would require a 220-40 version. Temperature, percentage, and timer off control works great. I wish the timer should default to a minimal time and prompt for increase as a safety precaution. This has saved my food and pans occasionally. Temperature is precise. Using a gentle boil I make poached eggs in a small non-stick fry pan and lid with about 3 tbs. of water at 260-320F and seasoning. The results are better than the antique poacher bowls on a range.

I have both versions. This is the better for a budget. Heats fast for 90% of all meals.
The planar controls allow for the heated pan to sit over the plastic control panel and slowly damage it. If you prevent this the price and performance are fantastic. Not the best for spaghetti water well over a gallon verses the range. But less than a half a gallon of sauce or other it beats all the other range types. The temperature controls are 20 degree increments but are just what you need. The timer off, is a great set and run option if needed safety. The percentage ON control speeds up starting getting the cooking going but is more prone to burning than the softer temperature controls.

Best simulator, this addition is for Radio Control addicts like me.
Works great, delivered fast, and lower expansion packs are soon to be discontinued. Great support from software company and distributor. The value is worth the costs.
